A general purpose readily available age hardening aluminum alloy. The base material is a good conductor of heat and electricity. Surfaces exposed to atmosphere will quickly form a hard aluminum oxide layer. This outer aluminum oxide layer will naturally protect the base aluminum from further exposure. The aluminum oxide layer is a good conductor of heat, but not a good conductor of electricity. Aluminum 6061 can be post processed and plated to achieve better corrosive, electrical, and cosmetic properties.
For quick turns, we carry bar stock which will fit across two 6" vises. We also carry plate stock up to 12" X 12" [300mm X 300mm].
